“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”
― Anne Frank
Be a CLAM digger: volunteer
Nonprofits depend on more than goodwill and tax-deductible funding. CLAM and our partner organizations for our recent and current initiatives—Coastal Rep, KPDO, Coast Pride, and the schools and organizations supporting the student e-magazine—also need volunteers to help us to turn these dreams into realities. Many hands make light work, as the saying goes. We welcome volunteers of all ages to help create our initiatives that will benefit the entire Coastside. Here are some of the opportunities to help CLAM make some magic:Movies at Coastal Rep:
• Coordinating the schedule
• Involving all segments of the community in choosing movies
• Publicizing the events
• Arranging public transportation from Moonridge and Pescadero
• Liaising with Coastal Rep
Student E-magazine:
• Managing the program
• Organizing WordPress and magazine design mentoring
• Setting up cloud-based collaboration platform
• Liaising with schools and student leaders
• Helping the students organize a production and editorial schedule
• Liaising with other media
• Publicity and promotion for the e-magazine
Other CLAM needs:
• Identifying grant sources
• Writing grant proposals
• Website maintenance
• Coordinating social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, blogs)
• Managing our Coastside Gives effort
• Liaising with cultural organizations (such as ALAS, Puente, and I.D.E.S.)
• Liaising with Coastside restaurants through the Chamber of Commerce for community-based fundraising
• Assisting CLAM with bookkeeping
• Communicating with donors and CLAM’s community supporters
